March 31, 2007 The Family Life/Respect Life Office of the
Archdiocese of New York will host a Respect Life Institute
at Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie, NY from 9am – 4pm on the
theme of "Building a Culture of Life and Love". Presentations include:
Cathy Cleaver Ruse, Esq. of Family Research Council on Sociological Trends in
Pornography, Abortion, Marriage; Mother Agnes of Sisters of Life on
Crisis Pregnancy Abortion & Adoption – Understanding the Heart of a Vulnerable
Pregnant Woman; Georgette Forney of Silent No More on The Top Ten Reasons
Why Abortion is Bad for Women; and Judy McLane of Generation Life on
Teaching Youth How to Choose Chastity. Suggested donation $25 (lunch

April 18, 2007 Socrates in the City presents an evening
of entertaining and provocative discussion on “life, God, and other small
topics” with special guest host, Scot Sherman, M.Div., Th.M., Teaching Pastor,
City Church of San Francisco, and special guests David Batstone, Ph.D., author
of Not for Sale: The Return of the Global Slave Trade – and How We Can Fight
It, and Eric Metaxas, author of Amazing grace: William Wilberforce and
the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery. The event will be at The New York
Society for Ethical Culture, 2 West 64th Street at Central Park West. Speaking
will begin at 7:00pm sharp. Registration before March 31st is $15, before April
7th $20, or $25 after April 7th or at the door. VIP reception from 6:00-7:00pm
is available with a donation of $45 before March 31st, before April 6th $55, or
$65 after April 7th. SITC Patron’s Dinner following the reception is available
with a donation of $150 before March 31st, before April 6th $175, or $200 after

May 4, 2007 The Guild of Catholic Lawyers presents its
monthly First Friday Mass at 7:45am at The Church of Our Saviour,
59 Park Avenue, New York, NY (corner 38th Street and Park Avenue). Coffee and a
light breakfast is served before the program. Guest speaker Sister Sara Butler,
Professor of Dogmatic Theology at St. Joseph’s Seminary, will discuss “A
Theologians Point of View” in line with this year’s program topic: The
Church and Social Justice. All are welcomed to attend. There is no charge. For
